OBITUARY - BERL EUGENE "SONNY" FENTON

Berl Eugene "Sonny" FENTON, son of Berl Otis FENTON and Viola Florence CONKLIN FENTON was born May 16, 1939 in Ellston, Iowa and passed from this life April 23, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at 68 years of age.

Sonny received his education in the Ellston Schools graduating in 1957. He was united in marriage to Janet Pearle LONGCOY on January 10, 1959 at Tingley, Iowa and five children blessed this union. They lived in Lorimor for 37 years before moving to Osceola in 2007.

Sonny worked as a Steel Fabricator for New Virginia Seed and Grain and had previously worked at Wellman Dynamics, Van Mark in Creston, Lemar in Des Moines and DC Construction in Ames. He was a member of First Christian Church in Osceola, NRA and a union member while employed at John Deere many years ago.

Sonny was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt squirrel and rabbit and hunt mushrooms. He could fix anything and had a great interest in classic cars; he owned four 1955 Chevys through the years and always dreamed of owning a 1939 model.

Those relatives who preceded Sonny in death were his parents and his mother and father-in-law.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Janet FENTON of Osceola; his best buddy, Jake (Sonny's Minature Shelty) daughters, Chrissy REESE (Danny NEISEMIER) of Thayer, Belinda HORTON (Brian) of Osceola, Tessie FENTON of Marble Falls, TX, Rhonda "Ronnie" BAUMFALK (Larry) of Woodburn; son, Terry (Teri) FENTON of Osceola; grandchildren, Michael LEWIS (Whitney) of Excelsior Springs, MO, Stephanie "Gwen" HENRICHS (Matt) of Murray, Katie BELL (Tommy) of Osceola, Jenny HORTON (Danny KELLER) of Osceola, Kory FENTON of Vandalia, IL, Shauna FENTON of Grimes, Carrie Ann FENTON, Tyler FENTON, Amber Lynn FENTON - all of Perry, Cheyenne BAUMFALK and Harley BAUMFALK - both of Woodburn; step-grandchildren, Michael HAGUE of Creston, Amanda LAWSON (Michael) of Montezuma, Ashley HAGUE of Wellman; Dana (Zack) PRYOR of Afton and Andy (Amber) NEISEMIER of Macksburg; great-grandchildren, Gracelynn LEWIS, McKayla HENRICHS, Heidi HENRICHS, Amanda HENRICHS, Natalye BELL, Troy KELLER, Kameron FENTON; step-great grandchildren, Damian LAWSON, Hayden Rose LAWSON, Jonathon HAGUE; Rakenzy and Hunter PRYOR and Alexia and Abigail NEISEMIER; brother, Sidney FENTON (Diane) of Garden Grove; sisters, Priscilla HULL (Lafayette) of Mt. Ayr and Karen WILLIAMS (George) of Woodburn as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
