William THOMPSON Rites on Sunday

Funeral services for William Henry THOMPSON, 86, of Ankeny, Ia., who died at home Thursday [December 25, 1941], will be at 2 p. m. Sunday in the Ankeny Congregtional church. Burial will be in Union cemetery.

Mr. THOMPSON was a lifelong resident of Polk county, engaged in farming. He was a member of the Polk City Masonic lodge.

Surviving are his widow; one son, Joseph, of Ankeny; seven daughters, Mrs. Lutie HOWARD, of Des Moines; Mrs. Louisa WHELER, of Saylorville, Ia.; Mrs. Alice ROFF, Mrs. Susa GRAEBER, Mrs. Henrietta HITZ and Mrs. Sibea MOECKLY, all of Polk City and Mrs. Rachael GELBRECH, of Ankeny; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

William was born December 8, 1855, Ringgold County, Iowa, the son of Joseph Crockett and Rachel (ELLIOTT) THOMPSON. He married August 29, 1875, Polk County, Iowa, Mary Elizabeth LANE (b. 12 May 1858; d. 09 Nov 1945).
