OBITUARY - JAMES HENRY HACKER

James Henry HACKER, son of Daniel and Mary HACKER, was born April 14, 1873, in Harrison County, Missouri, and departed this life May 11, 1954, at his home in Mount Ayr, at the age of 81 years and 28 days.

On April 23, 1902, he was united in marriage with Nancy HOPKINS. They made their home on a farm in Ringgold county until two and one-half years ago when they removed to their present home in Mount Ayr. To this union were born three daughters -- Vesta (Mrs. Harvey LAMB), of Ellston, and Nellie (Mrs. Robert STEWARD), and Esta (Mrs. Homer BUTLER), of Mount Ayr.

He was a kind and loving husband and father, as well as a good and friendly neighbor to all.

He was prededed in death by his parents, four sisters, one brother, and a grandson.

He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, three daughters, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three sons-in-law, a sister, Julia WILLARD, of Pratt, Kan., a brother Bill, of Spearman, Texas, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, from the Rhoades Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. C. W. WOOLARD. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery [Mount Ayr, Iowa].
