October 14, 2010OBITUARY - DELLA (RUSH) SMUCK, 95, ROCKFORD
Della R. SMUCK, 95, of Rockford died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, in Neighbors Nursing Home, Byron. Della was born July 23, 1915, in Ringgold County, Iowa, the daughter of Isaac W. and Jesse Mae (JOHNSON) RUSH. She married Gerald O. "Jerry" SMUCK on June 27, 1936, in Belvidere; he died Jan. 24, 1992.
She is survived by children, Ronald G. (Dorothy) SMUCK and Larry (Sherry) SMUCK, both of Rockford; Cheri (Douglas) HOOD of Jacksonville, Fla., Nancy Joyce SPRAY of Westport, Tenn., and M. Sue ZIMMERMAN of Roscoe; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend of the family, Rosie BUCHNER.
She was predeceased by parents; five brothers; three sisters; and grandchildren, Dawn and Jerry.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m.; the Rev. Doug THIESEN officiating with a private burial in Monroe Center Cemetery. Memorials to Alzheimer's Association, 1111 S. Alpine Road, Suite 307, Rockford, IL 61108.
