OBITUARY - HAZEL (WAUGH) JACKSON

Hazel WAUGH grew up at Redding [IA] and graduated from Redding high school in 1928. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls in 1931. She taught in Ringgold county schools for three years. In 1936, she was married to Luther Earl JACKSON of Grant City, Missouri and lived the next 61 years on a farm in Worth county, Missouri. Hazel was active as a 4-H leader for many years while her children were growing up. She later worked for Grant City Manufacturing Company. She also did mending for Grant City Nursing Home for many years. Hazel was a news correspondent for the Times Tribune for several years. Hazel was a lifelong member of the Middle Fork Methodist Church [near Redding IA]. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was always a willing worker for her church. She was an avid gardener and loved to care for all plants, flowers and animals. She was a loving mother and grandmother and had made a special quilt for each of her grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Matilda WAUGH; husband Earl; son-in-law Doyle AUSTIN; brother Clifton WAUGH; and three sisters, Ferne JACKSON, Glenna WAUGH and Flora Belle WAUGH.
