OBITUARY - MARGARET LOUISE (KIMBELL) GUESS SKELLY

ROCHESTER-- The funeral for Margaret Louise SKELLY will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, with the Rev. Lester HORNTVEDT officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Manchester, Iowa, on Tuesday.

Mrs. SKELLY, 92, of Rochester, died Friday [May 19, 2006] at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Margaret Louise KIMBELL was born January 10, 1914, in Beaconsfield, Iowa. She graduated from North High School in Des Moines, Iowa. On October 22, 1938, she married Dr. W. H. GUESS in Nashua, Iowa. He died in 1960 and she later married Lawler SKELLY. He died in 1976.

Mrs. SKELLY, a former dental assistant, lived in Rochester since 1954, the past three years at Northgate Plaza.

She was a charter member of the Eagles' Ladies Auxiliary #2228 and a member of the Eagles' Ladies Ritual Team.

Survivors include four stepdaughters, LaVerne (Harlan) APPLEBY of Arthur, Ill., L. Betty BROWN of Webster City, Iowa; Nina (E. Lee) HATCH of Wyoming, Ill. and Nancy SKELLY of Ukiah, Calif.; stepson, Michael (Janie) SKELLY of Minneapolis; sister, Doris BEER of Dallas, Texas; eight step-grandchildren; 13 step-great grandchildren; and 11 step-great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother and a stepdaughter.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Eagles Cancer Telethon.
