OBITUARY - MARY ARLEEN NEWTON.

Little Mary Arleen NEWTON was born May 10, 1929, and died February 27, 1930, being at the time of her death nine months, two weeks and four days old. She had never enjoyed the rugged health that rightly belongs to happy childhood, but had lately been improving until she was stricken with that dread disease, whooping cough. Everything that skill and loving hands could do was done but the little one was too delicate to withstand the ravages of the disease, so near to the midnight hour the pure, sweet soul returned to God who gave it. She only budded on earth to bloom in heaven. Jesus had need of this pure, sweet flower to transplant in his beautiful garden of flowers. What a comfort it is to read where Jesus said, "Suffer little children to come unto be (sic), and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of Heaven."

She leaves to mourn her departure a loving father and mother, a dear little sister Daisy Maxine, her aged grandfather and grandmother NEWTON, her grandmother NORRIS, a great grandmother KENDALL, several uncles and aunts and cousins besides a host of other relatives.

Little blossom, sweet and fair,
Precious jewel, bright and rare
You have gone and left us weeping,
But we know you're sweetly sleeping.
Free you are from pain and sorrow,
And will wake to glad tomorrow,
Oh, 'twill be a happy meeting,
When we see your smile of greeting.
The funeral service was held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. CLARK, who was assisted by Rev. GRIFFIN, and burial was made in Maple Row cemetery [Kellerton].

Card of Thanks.

We wish to say thank you to every one of our friends and dear neighbors, who helped us bear our burden of grief, also our minister for his words of cheer and comfort, the singers too, who brought their words of comfort in song, and the dear little ones who carried our darling's casket. -- Mr. and Mrs. Walter NEWTON and Maxine.
