OBITUARY.

DIED-At her residence near Tingley, Ringgold county, Iowa, on the eight day of March, 1885, Mrs. Alice NEWBY, in the 25th year of her age. Mrs. NUBY (sic) was the daughter of brother and sister COFFIN. She was born in Mahaska county, Iowa. Since she came to Ringgold county she has not connected with any church. In her last hours she enjoyed the presence of her Saviour in a large degree. She confessed herself as ready and willing to die. She has left behind her to mourn her loss a husband and infant child, with her father and mother, one brother and three sister (sic); but they mourn not as those who have no hope.

NOTE: Alice "Allie" (COFFIN) NEWBY was interred at Eugene Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa. She was 24 years and 3 months old at the time of her death.
