OBITUARY - REV. J. M. NELSON

Rev. John M. NELSON died Tuesday night, July 2nd, at his residence eight miles southeast of Humeston, aged 68 years. Rev. F. Edwards conducted the funeral exercises at the cemetery on July 4th. The deceased came to the state in 1852 and had been a minister in the Baptist Church for more than forty years.

He leaves a wife and six children. One son, W. A. NELSON, is pastor of the Baptist Church at Doon, Iowa. The second son, Julius is pastor of the Baptist Church at Mount Ayr. One of the daughters married John HICKMAN, formerly of this county. The deceased was well to do financially and possessed the esteem of all who knew him. He was a brother of Mrs. McCUTCHAN, of this county.
