FORMER BLOCKTON RESIDENT DIES IN MICHIGAN
Funeral services for Minnie Dezena LOUTZENHISER, 87, of Kalamazoo, Mich. were held in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church in Kalamazoo April 30, 1982. Graveside services were conducted by Pastor Milton HENDERSON May 2, 1982 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Blockton [Taylor County], Iowa. Miss LOUTZENHISER died in Kalamazoo, Mich. April 27, 1982.
Minnie Dezena LOUTZENHISER was born in Blockton, Iowa on September 14, 1894, daughter of O. J. and Elizabeth (JUDY) LOUTZENHISER.
She received her degee in education at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, in English and her master's degree from the University of Washington. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. In her early career of teaching, she was teacher in the Grant City, Missouri High School.
She had been a resident of Kalamazoo since 1923 when she joined the faculty at Western Michigan University as an English instructor. She was a member of the Kalamazoo First Presbyterian Church.
Preceding her in death was a sister, ROxie CONNIE and brothers Harry LOUTZENHISER and Richard LOUTZENHISER.
She is survived by a brother, Robert D. LOUTZENHISER of Blockton, Iowa; nieces and nephes; and Isabelle CRANE, who had been her housemate since 1924.
