OBITUARY - EDWARD WILEY MOTSINGER

MOTSINGER, Mrs. Edward Wiley, 123 Parsons [St.]. --

Passed away Friday morning at Borgess hospital [Kalamazoo] after a brief illness. Mr. MOTSINGER had been a resident of Kalamazoo [MI] for about 30 years. He is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. Mary PHILLIPPE of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Laura Ellen VANDERVELDE of Arizona, Miss Ruth A. MOTSINGER of Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Ethel Irene SIMMONS of Hillsdale [MI]; two sons, Charles M. and Walter S., both of Kalamazoo; 2 brothers, Phillip [1873-1964] of Missouri and Albert [1884-1971] of [Mount Ayr] Iowa; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mollie DANIELS [1870-1960] and Mrs. Clara HUNT [1870-1960], both of Missouri; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Time of services will be announced later. Friends may call at the Langeland chapel.

NOTE: Edward Wiley MOTSINGER, the son of Christopher C. MOTSINGER (1839-1919) and Cynthia Ann (VANDEVER) MOTSINGER (1844-1938), was born March 2, 1865, Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa, and died at the age of 89 on April 30, 1954, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. Edward married February 10, 1889, Grand City, Worth County, Missouri, to Cora NORRIS (1872-1951). They were the parents of eight children:

4) Mary E. (MOTSINGER) PHILLIPPE (1895- ?)
5) Walter S. MOTSINGER (1898-1971)
6) Laura Ellen (MOTSINGER) VANDERVELDE (1901-1987)
7) Ruth A. MOTSINGER (1904-1985)
8) Ethel Irene (MOTSINGER) SIMMONS (1910-1985)
