OBITUARY - DAVID GARLAND.

David Henry, son of Patrick Henry and Martha (ELDRIDGE) GARLAND, was born near Lexington, Va., May 3, 1850, and passed to his heavenly home from Tingley, Iowa, October 21, 1928, at the age of 78 years, five months and 18 days.

In September, 1873, he was united in marriage to Susan Elizabeth WELSH. To this union were born fifteen children, six of whom and the mother preceding Brother GARLAND in death and nine are now living - F. A. and D. W., of Des Moines, Iowa; A. F., of St. Louis, Mo.; Jno. Ivan, of Sious Falls, S.D.; Mrs. Mabel JOHNSTON, of Ellston, Iowa; O. D. GARLAND, Mrs. Bessie ALEXANDER and Mrs. Maggie BROWN, of Tingley, Iowa.

Besides these one brother, Chas., of Man, W.Va., forty-eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren mourn his death.

Mrs. GARLAND departed this life April 26, 1919, at Harrisburg, S.D. Following this the deceased lived two years at Ellston and the remaining time at Tingley.

NOTE: Interment was at Ellston Cemetery, Ellston, Ringgold County, Iowa.
