OBITUARY - JOHN ALLEN FORD.

John Allen FORD, son of D. G. and Eliza FORD, was born in Green county, Ohio, April 10, 1866. When a child he came to Iowa with his parents and settled in Ringgold county where he grew to young manhood, later moving to Shannon City where he lived until twelve years ago when he moved to Clearfield, Iowa, where he has since resided. He has been in failing health for a number of months, not being able to actively engage in any work for some time. His condition became of a serious nature and he was taken to the St. Joseph M.E. hospital December 1, where he passed away last Wednesday evening, December 15. He leaves to mourn his departure his aged mother whom he has so thoughtfully and tenderly cared for since the death of his father many years ago. One sister, Mrs. A. A. ANDREWS of Clarinda, Iowa, and a large number of nephews, nieces and hosts of friends. One brother, the late George FORD [1859-1924], of Creston, Iowa, preceded him in death.

The funeral was held at the Christian church in Clearfield, conducted by the Rev. UNDERWOOD and the body was laid to rest at the Union cemetery [near Diagonal, Ringgold County, Iowa].

NOTE: David Gilmore FORD, father of John Allen, was born July 11, 1835, and died September 20, 1904 with interment at Union Cemetery near Diagonal, Iowa.
