OBITUARY - MRS. SAMANTHA A. DADY

Samantha A. LAYTON, daughter of Demick and Minerva LAYTON , was born in Ringgold county April 30, 1861, and died March 30, 1927, age 66 years 11 months, at the home of her son, Fred DADY. She was married to Irwin DADY in the year of 1877. To this union eight children were born, six of them preceding her in death. Two children, Willis DADY of Sac City and Fred DADY of Shannon City, one brother, J. W. LAYTON of Liberty township, and a host of other relatives and friends are left to mourn her death. She has spent her entire life in Ringgold county.

Funeral services were held at the High Point church April 3, conducted by Rev. K. E. NESBIT. The remains were laid to rest in the Olliver (sic) cemetery [near Ellston, Ringgold County, Iowa].

NOTE: Irwin DADY died in 1924 with interment at Oliver Cemetery near Ellston.
