Lucy M. Bradley
(1868 – March 23, 1894)Griswold American, Griswold, Iowa, Wed., March 28, 1894, p.1
Mrs. Lucy M. Bradley, nee Jewel, was born in Fulton, Jackson County, Iowa, in 1868 and died at the home of J. W. Walter in Griswold, Iowa, March 23rd 1894, being 26 years of age. She was married to H. S. Bradley April 16th, 1888. Immediately after their wedding they moved to Griswold and have made their residence at this place ever since. Mrs. Bradley was regarded by those who knew her as a kind neighbor, loving mother, and good wife. The first symptoms of that dreaded disease consumption showed itself about a year ago and since that time she has had frequent attacks and yet during all her sickness she bore her suffering uncomplainingly and hoped until a few days before her death to recover. Her friends and neighbors did all they could to make her comfortable and many have done God’s service in ministering to her wants. During her last sickness she professed faith in God and very earnestly plead with her friends and loved ones to meet her in that Better Land. Her funeral services were conducted in the M. E. church by the pastor after which the remains were laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery one and one half mile west of Griswold.
