My wife and our 3 kids moved into John and Florence Normile's personal residence 18 years ago, Des Moines, IA. With an interest in architecture I researched Normile extensively and I'd be happy to share the info. Our home was built in 1930's and he was prolific in the 20s through 40s and less so later when he became Architecture editor in chief for Better Homes & Gardens. His work ranged from private homes to corporate headquarters, public buildings and a number of churches. All were heavily influenced by his early years in France, WWII in Army Corp of engineers where he was invited to stay on after the war , attending the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris. His work was diverse and included Norman Revival influence , art deco, prairie modern ranch, English country, etc. I'm happy to help if you'd like more information. Robert Colman
