1912 Troop F, 6 Cavl at Fort Des Moines

I have recently come across a postcard written my great aunt from her Cousin who was stationed at For Des Moines in 1912. I've written the historical society at Fort Des Moines, but the response wasn't helpful. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction about where I could get this information. This cousin is new information in my research and I'm trying to figure out how he fits into a branch of my Snow family that I'm having a terrible time ironing out.
The postcard itself is a photo of a young blonde haired man with an older gentlemen, both in uniform. There are two other postcards that have the the same young man and older man, and an additional man. Here is the text of the postcard (with all its spelling and grammar errors), if it is of any help:

why dont you right to me I have ben looking for a nice kind, wellcome letter from you now I will drop you this card to let you know that I am well and so is papa so my dear, you wont to right right soon cause I am go on a hike the 15 of June and holl troop is going and we wont come back till Aug 30. we will be gone 3 months so by by love to all so now right soon to me from your cousin, William
