Polk County Home records

BULLINGTON

Does anybody know what happened to the Polk County Home records? I check with the State Historical Society and they are not there. I am looking for information on Dora Bullington.

I have the following information from the 1940 US Census: 1940 US Census, Polk County Insane Hospital, Saylor Twp, Polk Co, Iowa; April 1940
Bullington, Dora, female, white, age: 73, widow, born in Iowa; in 1935 lived in Huxley, Polk Co, Iowa on a farm

Her headstone at the Vandalia Cemetery in Jasper County says she died in 1953; I would like to know an exact date.
