There is supposed to be an obit for Albert Masser in the Wednesday, 20 April 1927 edition of the Des Moines Tribune newspaper. I don't have access to those microfilms but I did check the films for the Des Moines Register. There was a short but front page story on Albert's death on page 1 of the Monday, 18 April 1927 edition. I was unable to locate a full obituary of him in the Register. The story in the Register indicated that Albert was living alone at that time. Perhaps the Tribune obit would mention the death date of his wife, as it sometimes does. In the Wednesday, 20 April 1927 issue of the Des Moines Register, in the Death Notices column, it mentions that services were to be held that same day, Wednesday, 20 April 1927 at Dunn's (funeral home) at 2 p.m. with interment at Woodland Cemetery.
I checked the on-line records for Woodland Cemetery and there is no mention of Bessie but there are 4 Masser names listed:
MASSER, Albert - April 17, 1927
MASSER, August K. - June 03, 1921
MASSER, Mary E. - November 13, 1923
MASSER, Ward - November 13, 1906The dates given could be either their death date or their burial date but the date for Albert was his death date, Sunday, 17 April 1927.
If you want to see the death notice and short story about Albert Masser's death, let me know and I can scan them in and email you a copy of them. You might also want to contact Dunn's and see if they have additional information as Dunn's is still in operation today.
