Louis Barnabus Gaffney death date

Louis Barnabas Gaffney or L. B. Gaffney, is buried in Woodland Cemetery in Des Moines. Louis is believed to have died in 1883. His wife was Virginia/Jenny and she is believed to have died on 15 March 1883. They had at least one daughter, named Clara who was 11 years of age in 1870 per the US Census. They were all living in McGregor, Iowa at the time of the census. Louis was a Civil War veteran who served in the 3rd Missouri Cav, Co. K. I would like to find an obituary for Louis and/or Virginia Gaffney and am assuming that they died in Polk County but it's based only on the fact that they are both buried in Des Moines. If anyone happens to be going to the Polk County Court House, I would sure appreciate you taking the time to look for their death records, to ascertain their correct dates of death and to give me the information. I sure wouldn't turn down a copy of their obits either. I have no other information on their daughter, Clara. Thank you to anyone who may be able to help me out.
