My great grandfather, Charles Clement Phillips (born 1861), sailed to America in 1888 with wife Ellen and sister Lavinia. They stated destination as Iowa. They returned to England about 10 years later with 3 children Roy, May, Olivia. The 2 girls are on IGI as being born in Polk, Iowa. Roy died in WW1 and is listed as being born in Des Moines. Keep going round in circles trying to find out what they did in America. Can anybody help me find out more about their time in America?
