Paul Gaffney, 67, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012. He was born on February 27, 1944, to Andrew and Phyllis Gaffney and married his wife, Kathy on November 18, 1966.

Paul is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Eric and his wife, Lea of Anchorage; grandson, Michael; siblings, Jerome(Evelyn) Gaffney, Ann Appell, Colleen (Frank) Gaffney, Rick (Lorraine) Gaffney, Mark (Mary Lou) Gaffney, Leo (Lori) Gaffney, Susan Ernest, John (Lori) Gaffney, and Trish (Rupert) Solis; and 26 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A devoted husband and father, beloved by those who knew him, Paul will be remembered for his decency, his willingness to help friends and neighbors, and for his unceasing desire to learn new things.

A private funeral Mass was held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to either: Catholic Relief Services or Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
