Clarence Van Gundy, 73, died peacefully at his home Saturday, November 26, 2011 from a lung ailment.
Clarence was born August 2, 1938 in Des Moines. He served in the U.S. Navy. Clarence was a meat cutter for Hinky Dinky, Smith's East Side Meats and most recently Walmart in Altoona.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Wilma; children, Jerry and Rob Van Gundy and Susan Richards; grandchildren, Heather and Amanda Richards and Robby and Raini Van Gundy; great-grandson, Max; brothers, Robert, Mike and Richard Van Gundy; and his sisters, Madeline Austin and Alice Weber.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday November 30, 2011 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
