Timothy Peter Carlson, 64, of Polk City, IA died on December 1, 2011 at his son's home in Cape Coral, FL. He was born on December 28, 1946 in Moline, IL, a child of Harold Eric and Caroline Louise Carlson.
He graduated in 1965 from Ankeny High School and he worked as a carpenter in the construction industry for many years. Tim better known as "Captain Tim" spent the remaining years of his life doing what he enjoyed the most working on the water surrounded by family and friends at the Saylorville Lake Marina.
He is survived by his son, Timothy (Jill) Carlson of Cape Coral, FL; his granddaughters, Shawna and Kinsey Carlson; his mother, Caroline Moon; his sister, Sue "Suzy" (Gary) Trampel; his step-brother, Jim (Mary Ann) Moon; his brother-in-law, Larry Halsrud. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his step-sister, Barb Halsrud.
A celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 5 p.m., in the American Legion Post 232, 114 E. Broadway, Polk City.
