Mary Ann Freel, 77, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Mary Ann was born April 25, 1934 in Swan, Iowa to Goldia (Wheeldon) and Harry Freel. She retired from Mid-American Energy as a customer service specialist. Mary Ann was a member of Runnells Christian Church. She was an avid reader and walker and knew every dog in the neighborhood. She also enjoyed spending time at Prairie Meadows.
Mary Ann is survived by her siblings, Ruth Marks, Elsie Wade, Bill Freel (Sandy), Earl Freel (Marilyn), Martha McClure (Caryl), and David Freel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with a private family burial to follow at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells. The family will greet friends for an hour before the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Mary Ann.
