Richard Van Cleave, 68, of Mill Valley, CA, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23rd from 1 to 3 p.m. at Grace Church, 4200 E 25th St., Des Moines, IA, 50313. Richard was born July 9, 1943 in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Saydel H.S. in 1961. He moved to California in 1970, eventually residing in Mill Valley. Over the years he worked in real estate and real estate financing.
He is survived by his wife Debra of 20 years; his mother, Edythe (92); his children, Roger, Jacob and Alissa; his grandson, Andrew; his siblings Jack, Bob, Jerry, Gary and JoAnn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold and brother, Bill. Richard was dynamic, a dreamer, an entrepreneur, as well as a caring, positive, thoughtful and unique man. He is, and always will be missed.
