Sandra K. Pray, 68, passed away from breast cancer on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Memorial visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in West Des Moines followed by a celebration of her life at 3 p.m. Inurnment will be at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church columbarium.
Sandra was born December 23, 1943 in Clarinda, Iowa to Ralph and Wilma (Lucas) Portlock. She was a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. Sandra enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Sandra is survived by her husband of eleven years, Dr. Ralph Pray of Urbandale; daughter, Melissa (Gonzalo) Baron of Omaha, Nebraska; son, Mark Koch of Kansas City, Missouri and two grandchildren, Lucas and Daniel Baron. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Larry Koch, brother, James Noel Portlock and sister, Eva Nadine Miller.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the John Stoddard Cancer Center or St. Timothy's church.
