Surrounded by her loving family, Irene Noyes, 86, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012. Funeral Services will be Monday, June 11 at 11 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd., Clive with burial to follow in Atlantic, IA. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
Irene was employed by Bridgestone Firestone and was a Gold Star Mother. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary as well as the VFW Auxiliary. Irene was an accomplished seamstress and loved animals. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Sam" Noyes and her son, Larry J. Nehring who was killed during Vietnam.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Michael (Betty) Nehring; grandchildren, Todd (Mary) Hanrahan and Amy (Osmin) Calderon; great-grandchildren, Dylan Kingery, Kinsey Hanrahan, Kyer Hanrahan and Nicolas Calderon and brother, Bernard Hickey of FL.
