Max E. Mulvania, 78, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully at Taylor House on June 18, 2012.
Max was born to the late Elsie and Joe Mulvania in Lineville, IA on July 11, 1933. He resided in Lineville. After graduating high school he joined the Navy and served during the Korean War. He married his wife, Arlene McCarty in 1957. In 1958 their son Michael was born. Max was employed at Firestone in Des Moines. He was a tire builder and a proud union member of the Local URW 310 for 32 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene, son Michael and his wife, Christine, grandson Joe, and step-grandchildren, Tony, Christopher, and Alex Jones. He is survived by a cousin Ed Evans and daughter Jessica. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws, Jim, Max, Rex, John, Bob, and the late Gary McCarty, sister-in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and close friends.
There will be a "Celebration of Life" held on Sunday, June 24th, at Local 310 Union Hall, across the street from the Firestone plant on Broadway with a luncheon starting at 1 p.m.
