Dean Franklin Faust died on June 7, 2012 in Des Moines. He was born June 13, 1917 in St. Charles, Iowa.
Dean served in the Army Air Forces (AAF) during WW II where he was stationed in Italy. He worked many years at Hoxie Wholesale and ran his own food wholesale company in Creston, IA before retiring to Beaver Lake in Rogers, AR to pursue his love of fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, neighbors and church family. He was a member of Isaac Walton League, a 50 year Mason and a faithful member of Bland Chapel Methodist Church in Rogers, AR.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Mae Faust; three brothers, Fon, Forrest and Charles and his two wives, Ruth Slater Faust and Irene Magnussen Faust. He is survived by his three children, Dean James (Christine Joslin), Gary (Fran) and Karen (Steve) Woody; five grandchildren, Jason Faust, Jon Faust, Erin Woody Schirm, Max Faust and Alexis Faust as well as ten great-grandchildren. A memorial visitation for Dean will be Saturday, July 28th from 3 to 5 p.m. at Community of Christ Churc, 4504 Ashworth Rd., West Des Moines. A memorial service with military funeral honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Bland Chapel Methodist Church in Rogers, AR.
