Judy was born in Des Moines, Iowa the youngest of three to Edgar McCartney and Genevie Dawson McCartney where she graduation from East High School and attended the U of Iowa. She moved to San Jose, Calif. in 1962 and worked for Bank of America, met her husband to be John Austin, married and settled in Boulder, Colo. to raise their family, a daughter, Wendy and a son, Ryan.
Judy loved outdoor activities and cooking contests. She has enjoyed the past 20 years of retirement, in the Florida Keys, Tucson, Ariz. and Portland, Oregon.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John; daughter, Wendy MacGregor; son, Ryan Austin; son-in-law, Mike MacGregor; grandsons, Dylan MacGregor, Cole MacGregor, and Carson MacGregor, sister Sally Steinbach of Ankeny, Iowa and brother, Edward McCartney of Cleveland, Tenn.
