Jane A. Briggs passed away in the arms of her loving Lord on January 11, 2012 while surrounded by family at home. At first, the angels stood behind her bed guarding her every breath. As her breath began to fade, the angels hovered above her, gently lifting her spirit into the heavenly hands of God.
Jane was born June 18, 1935 in Pleasantville, IA. Not a day passed that she didn't remind people how blessed she was to have her three girls and sisters in her life.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Von Ahnen (Jim), Kathie Smith (Dave) and Brenda McDonald; her sisters, Pauline Harrison, Mary C. Briggs and Bernita Moats; 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank (Red), parents, Beryle and Ruby Plummer, sister, Dorothy Leland and granddaughter, Christa Grochala.
Her daughters send a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Todd Jensen and nurse Lisa and aid Janette of Iowa Health Home Care Hospice for their unending support and compassion in which they helped care for their mother.
Her family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday January 13, at Iles Funeral Homes-Grandview Park Chapel. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Hope Lutheran Church, 3857 E. 42nd St., where she was a member. Family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Her body has been cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Iowa Health Home Care Hospice or Hope Lutheran Church.
