Edward Clevenger, 61, died Sunday, November 4, 2012. A funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Ft. Des Moines United Methodist Church, 6205 SW 9th Street with burial following at Elm Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 8 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
Edward was born December 31, 1950 in Omaha to Eugene and Edra Clevenger. He graduated from UNO in Omaha and the St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City. Edward pastored several United Methodist Churches in Iowa. He had a great love for music, especially the 50's and 60's.
Edward is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Matthew (Melissa), Wendy (Ty) Parsley, Peter (Jill), Timothy (Shannon); 12 grandchildren; sister, Jeanette (Greg) Winchester and brother, Marty. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandsons, William and Sebastian.
