Spitzer, Nancy Paris - 1949-2012

Nancy Spitzer, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Thursday, November 8, 2012 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Nancy was born February 23, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel J. and Dorothy M. Paris. Nancy was an artist and had a strong appreciation of music. She enjoyed computers, and was also becoming involved with local politics. Above all else, Nancy treasured the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Nancy's memory will be cherished by her loving husband of 30 years, Dennis Spitzer; her son, E. J. (and Carma) Spitzer; daughters, Allyson Anderson (and Kevin Book), Holly (and Russ) Adams, Amanda (and Liam) Macleod and Debby (and Matt) Howard; her beloved grandchildren, Parker and Mia Spitzer, Aaron and Jackson Adams and Madison and Aden Howard; her sisters, Vicki Shusterman, Dottie (and Del) Bauer, Dottie (and Elmer) Roorda and Sandy (and Bill) Wesley; her brother, Don Samaneigo; her sister-in-law, Jeanette (and Jerry) Brown; her niece and honorary sister, Terri Abrahamson; numerous nieces and nephews; her faithful four-legged companion, Mickey; other loving relatives and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin James Paris and her adoptive mother, Kay Voss Paris who held a special place in her heart and helped raise her.
Memorial visitation will be held to celebrate Nancy's life from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Private inurnment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in loving memory of Nancy.
