Joseph A. Rokey, 90, of the 2900 block of Raccoon Street died of complications of a stroke Saturday at Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Brooks Funeral Care.
Mr. Rokey was born in Shannon City and had lived in Ottumwa before moving to Des Moines in 1979. He had worked as a supervisor at John Morrell Co.
before retiring. He enjoyed sports and working with ham radios.
He is survived by three sons, Stephen Sr. and Craig, both of Des Moines, and Roger of Pennsylvania; three daughters, Janice Harris of Dallas, Texas, Diane Gipson of Las Vegas and Deborah Rokey of Corydon; a brother, Bernard of Hiawatha; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh House on Grand.
