Daniel W. Fowler, 85, of the 4300 block of Northeast 29th Street died of a heart ailment Saturday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. The body was cremated, and memorial visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. No additional services are planned.
Mr. Fowler was born in Rose Hill and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He had worked as a supervisor at Lennox, Herschel and EMCO companies before retiring. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of Baldwin Patterson American Legion and Union Park United Methodist Church, and enjoyed softball, fishing and people watching.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Dee Warren of Des Moines, Karna Leonard of Lakewood, Colo., and Mary Hall of Brooklyn, Mich.; a sister, Berniece Nuzum of Cornville, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
