Funeral Services for Russell W. Steig, age 45, who passed away February 15, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston after a courageous fight with Kidney cancer will be held 11 a.m. Friday February 19, 2010 at the Carlisle United Methodist Church. Russell will lie in state with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle.

Born in Webster City, Iowa he and his family have lived in Carlisle since 1990.

Russell had worked for Sam's Riverside Inc. for 25 years. Russell was a member of Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Arrow, Carlisle United Methodist Church and the N.R.A.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Steig. His survivors are his wife Dorothy of Carlisle, two sons McKinley (Nicole) Steig of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Evan Steig of Carlisle; his mother, Frances Steig of Webster City, Iowa; sister, Roxanne Tjaden of Storm Lake, Iowa; and brother, Roger Steig of Webster City, Iowa.

Memorials are welcome in Russell's memory.
