Francine V. Meier, 67, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 in Lawrence, MA. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at McLaren's Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Francine was born November 8, 1945 in Albert Lea, MN to Gehard and Vivian (Olson) Johnson. She grew up in Bricelyn, MN and graduated from Bricelyn High School in 1963. Francine married Richard G. Meier on December 14, 1963. She worked in the Accounting Department at Fawn Engineering in Des Moines until 1984 when she moved to Georgetown, MA. Most recently, she was an Accounts Receivable Administrator at UFP Technologies in Georgetown. Francine was a member of the Des Moines Women's Transportation Club. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, ballroom dancing, watching LPGA golf and was an avid reader.
Francine is survived by her daughter, Dena (Patrick) Meier-Baldus and their children, Rebecca, Clark, Jennifer and Jason of West Des Moines; son, Bill (Paula) Meier of Amesbury, MA and their daughter, Shondra (Ryan) Mosher of Elk Horn, KY; two brothers, Lee (Sharyl) Johnson of Bricelyn, MN and Marty Johnson of Rochester, MN; sister, Janet (Marv) Reinartz of Longmont, CO; beloved aunt, Arlene Henning of Wells, MN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Meier; parents and nephew, Bradley Johnson.
