Services for Marion Nelson Parton, 55, of 8209 Ridgeview Drive, who died of cancer Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Southtown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Mr. Parton was born in Missouri and moved to Des Moines in 1984. He most recently worked for Curtis Industries in Lauri, Mo., before moving to Des Moines.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara June; two sons, Michael and William and a daughter, Jeannine June Gathercole, all of Des Moines, his mother, Mable Weingart of Marion, five sisters, Eula Wood of Marion, Viola Arnold and Velma Rainville, both of Cedar Rapids, Dorothy Brown of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Norma Oswald of Oxon Hill, Md., and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call after noon Sunday at the funeral home.
