Gertrude (Sinclair) Clemons, 77, of Des Moines peacefully passed away Sunday evening at home among family.
Born July 3, 1933, in Melrose, Iowa, Gerty was the third of 23 siblings. Preceded in death by her infant son, Patrick; her parents, Robert and Ruby Sinclair; and eight brothers and sisters, she traveled through 60 years of her life with husband, Bill.
Survivers include Bill and their children, Deb Felice (Bob), Bob Clemons (Kathy), Bill Clemons (Louise), Liz Clemons (Bob Magnani), Doug Clemons (Allison); 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren (with number 15 coming soon); and three great- great-grandchildren (with number four also soon-to- be).
She was cremated at her request. Vigil and visitation will be held at Christ the King Church on Wednesday, September 22, between 5 and 7 p.m., with rosary starting at 6:30. Services and mass will be held on Thursday, September 23 at 10:30 a.m. The family has respectfully requested that all memorial donations be made to Iowa Health Hospice.
