Funeral rites held Saturday for Mrs. Florence E. Hawley
Funeral services for Mrs. Florence E. Hawley, who died Thursday (October 24, 1974) at the Dr. Hovenden Good Samaritan Center, were held at the United Methodist Church Saturday with burial in the Laurens Cemetery. Clergyman for the rites was the Rev. Mervin R. Nelson. Pall bearers were Dan Dubbert, Kevin Dubbert, Harlan Hawley, Mark Hawley, Steven Hawley, Joe Pohlman, John Pohlman and Tom Pohlman.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ora O. Sargent, she was born at Wilcox, Neb., Nov. 20, 1890. She was married to Seymour Hawley at New Virginia, Iowa, in 1913 and they made Laurens their home.
Mrs. Hawley was a member of the United Methodist Church, a life member of the United Methodist Women, a member of Eastern Star for 28 years and served as pianist for the Ware Methodist Church for more than 40 years.
Surviving are sons, Orville Hawley and Robert Hawley, both of Laurens, Jim Hawley of Corona, Calif., and Kenneth Hawley of Novato, Calif.; daughters, Mrs. H. M. Pohlman and Mrs. Bob Dubbert, both of Laurens; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were infant son and daughter and her husband, who died in 1957.
