Man Prophesies Time of Death

John M. Russell, Guest in City Misses Death Prophecy Five Minutes.

John M. Russell of Palmer, Iowa, who has spent the past several weeks at the Mills House, passed away while sitting in one of the office chairs about 6:00 o'clock Monday evening Dec. 22nd. He had eaten his supper and upon leaving the dining room made the remark to the girl at the desk, that he would be dead within 15 minutes from that time. He died in less than ten minutes.

Mr. Russell had also told friends in the city several weeks ago that he would die sometime between the 22nd and 26th of December. his prophecy proved true when he passed on, the 22nd of December.

The deceased is the author of several books and a teacher of some note in both Iowa and California. The body was shipped back to Palmer for burial. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa, Dec 1924.
