Pocahontas—Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew Meredith, 81, a long-time Pocahontas County resident, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at her home here and at 2:30 p.m. in Pocahontas Methodist church. The Rev. Robert Moss officiated and interment was in Summit Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Lawrence Storr and Fred Hendricks of Pocahontas; Louis Hauswirth, Charles Hauswirth and John Kretzmeier, all of Havelock; and Ernest Foster of Pomeroy.

Mrs. Meredith died Thursday at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge following two strokes suffered on Wednesday;

She was born at Lingen, England, February 17, 1873, and married Andrew Meredith in 1899. They came to the United States in 1902 and first resided at Evansville, Wis., for a year.

They moved to Pocahontas county 51 years ago, farming in the Pocahontas and Ware vicinities for 40 years. In 1945 they retired and moved into Pocahontas.

Surviving Mrs. Meredith are her husband, two daughters and two sons, Helen Meredith of Pocahontas, Mrs. Stuart Pirie of Mason City, Leonard and Richard Meredith of Havelock. Other survivors are seven grandchildren and four great-grand children.
