HARRY WASSOM'S MOTHER DIES

Passed Away Monday Morning at Her Home in Laurens

Mrs. Scott Wassom of Laurens, mother of Harry Wassom of Hawarden, passed away at her home at 7 o'clock Monday morning following a stroke. She had been in failing health for the past five years.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Laurens Wednesday afternoon and burial was at that place. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wassom, Helen Sutton and Mrs. C. J. Burrington of Hawarden and Mrs. C. J. Heald of Sioux City went from here to attend the funeral.

Mrs. Scott Wassom had reached the advanced age of 83 years. She came to Laurens from Osceola, Iowa 30 years ago and ever since made bet home there. Besides Harry Wassom she is survived by 11 children, Mrs. Harold Flory, Misses Bertha and Mabel Wassom and Warren, Claude, Orin and Howard of Laurens; C. C. Wassom and Mrs. Nora Patterson of Osceola, Iowa; Mrs. John O'Connor of Waterloo and Mrs. Louis Glenn of Henry, Nebr.

Mrs. Wassom was well known to many people of the Hawarden vicinity as she had visited numerous times in the home of her son here.

Poster's note: In the 1925 Iowa census for Pocahontas county, Emily (Mitchell) Wassom gives her parents' names as Sarah (Overton) and John Mitchell.
