William Hinn was born in Marion, Grant County, Wisconsin on August 19th, 1867, the fourth son of the late Joseph Hinn, Sr., and his wife nee Catherine Brechler. In early infancy, he was baptized into the Lutheran Church and at the usual age also confirmed after a due course of instruction in the chief doctrines of the Word of God as set forth in Luther's small catechism. While still in his teens he secured a position as cash boy in a local store, when grown to manhood he began to farm, his sister Mary taking care of the house for him.

On March 24th, 1892 he was joined in wedlock to Mary Goetz of Marion, Wisconsin. To this union five children were born, two of them preceding him in death. Four years after his marriage, in 1896, he moved to Laurens, Iowa with his family, where he, together with a brother, conducted a flour mill and creamery business. After ten years, he left the mill and, moved on a farm adjoining the town where he resided for eleven years. In 1917, the family came to Hastings, Nebraska. This was to be the last place of residence for Wm. Hinn.

He affiliated with Zion Lutheran Church from the time of his moving here to his death. Always blessed with rugged health and a good constitution, the departed complained of a cold, and his condition became rapidly .worse. Soon the ailment was diagnosed as typhoid fever. An intestinal perforation made an emergency operation necessary. In spite of all the loving care that his family could give him, the Lord came and made him free of all suffering and all cares. On Sunday night at nine, the last day of July he was taken into his eternal home where there is no sorrow. The fair stock of Christian knowledge he had proved a strong source of comfort to him. He repeatedly confessed Jesus as his personal Savior and clung to Him to the end. Of such, the Word of God says:
"Whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life!"

The time, of his sojourn on earth is: 64 years, 11 mo. 12 days.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, three children: Mrs. A. G. Fischer, Mrs. Fred Polenske, Mrs. C. F. Bachman, also five grandchildren. Two brothers, Geo. Hinn of Laurens, Iowa and Joseph Hinn of Fennimore, Wisconsin. Five sisters: Mrs. August Roewe of Laurens, Iowa, Mrs. John Miller and Mrs. Emma Whitman of Madison, Wisconsin, Miss Mary Hinn of Fennimore, Wisconsin and Mrs. Geo. Henkel of Kress, Texas. A great many friends and acquaintances are also mourning his loss.

Funeral services were conducted 1 from Zion Lutheran Church on August 3rd, 1932. Interment was in the beautiful grounds of Parkview cemetery. An immense crowd of friends gathered at the church to do him honor.
