Note: There are many things Mrs. Viola Maloney obituaries leave out. Her maiden name was Johnson. Her first husband Henry Johnson died in 1906 in Akron which is why she moved to South Sioux City in 1910. She was preceded in death by two children. A daughter Lila and a son LeRoy Johnson who are both buried in Riverside with her first husband Henry Johnson.

MRS. VIOLA MALONEY

Following a lingering sickness, Mrs. Viola Maloney, 73, died at her home at 124 East Twenty-fourth street in South Sioux City Friday afternoon.

Mrs. Maloney was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., September 10, 1859, and in 1900 she moved to Akron, Ia. After spending 10 years in Akron she moved to South Sioux City and had lived there since 1910. She was a member of the North Star Rebekah lodge and Boales Methodist church in South Sioux City.

Surviving Mrs. Maloney are her widower, Martin Maloney, and a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Baker, both of South Sioux City; a son, Leon W. Johnson of Ocheyedan, Ia.; a sister Mrs. May Xase of Crandon Wis., and a brother, Tibbits Johnson of Canada.

The body is at Becker’s funeral home in South Sioux City pending the completion of funeral arrangements.

MRS. VIOLA MALONEY

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in South Sioux City for Mrs. Viola Maloney, 73, who died Saturday following a prolonged sickness. Burial was in Graceland Park cemetery under the direction of Becker’s funeral parlor.

Mrs. Maloney was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., in 1859, and lived there until 1900, when she moved to Akron, Ia. In 1910 she moved to South Sioux City, where she had lived since.

FORMER AKRON WOMAN DIES

Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Maloney, 73, Siouth Sioux City, Nebraska, were Monday at 2 p.m. in the Boals Methodist church, Rev. E. N. Littroll officiated and burial was in Graceland Park cemetery. Becker’s funeral home was in charge.

Mrs. Maloney died in her home Friday after a lingering illness.

She was born in Fond de Lac, Wisconsin September 10, 1859. In 1900 she moved to Akron, Iowa, and in 1910 she moved to South Sioux City where she has since resided. She belonged to North Star Rebekah lodge and Boals Methodist church.

Mrs. Maloney is survived by her widower, Martin; a daughter, Mrs. Lula Baker, South Sioux Cit; a son, Leon W. Johnson, Ocheyodan, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. May Case, Crandon, Wisconsin; a brother, Tibbets Johnson, of Canada; six grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
