Reuben F. Vreugdenhil
Reuben F. Vreugdenhil, 79, Le Mars, died Friday (July 30, 1982) in Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars after a long illness.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Plymouth Presbyterian church rural Akron. The Rev. James Ransom officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron under direction of the Mauer funeral home of Le Mars.
Mr. Vreugdenhil, was born Feb. 111, 1903 in Hornick, Iowa. He married Eloise Barr, Feb. 11, 1927 in Neligh, Neb. They farmed near Peterson several years. They came to Plymouth county in 1940 and farmed until retiring to town in 1979. Mrs. Vreugdenhil died May 1981.
He was a member of the Plymouth Presbyterian church and a former member of the Plymouth county Farm Bureau.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Dixie) Oetken, of Brunsville; one brother, Edward of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Dw Witt of Sioux City, Mrs. Lillian Moats in Texas and Mrs. Cora Triwellinger in California; six grandchildren and two –great-grandchildren.
