Here is the obituary:
DURANT - Waldo E. Roehlk, Durant, was pronounced dead early this morning at his home by Dr. W. J. Kopsa, Cedar County medical examiner, who termed death due to self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Frick Funeral home, Durant, and burial will be in the Durant cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Roehlk, 61, was born Aug. 3, 1907 near Bennett, the son of George and Annie Roehlk. He had lived at Durant 33 years. He married Carma Goettsch March 11, 1931 at Davenport. She preceded him in death in January of 1957. He was a bricklayer by trade and did mason work. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Annie Roehlk, Durant; one son, William G., Galesburg; one daughter, Mrs. George (Eloise) White, Mill Valley, Calif.; three brothers, Harvey, Davenport; Harold, Durant; and Edward, New Liberty. Also, four grandchildren survive.

Durant Man's Death Is Ruled a Suicide
DURANT — The death of Waldo E. Roehlk, 62, has been ruled a suicide by Cedar county medical examiner, Dr. W. J. Kopsa. His body was found about 6 a.m. Wednesday by his sister-in-law at his home here. He lived with two sisters-in-law. He had shot himself with a shotgun. He reportedly had been despondent over ill health.
