If you are still searching afer 8 years for the Kern family, I believe your Harry and Frank Kern were the sons of Fred Kern, who was the son of Albert Kern who immigrated from Switzerland in 1852. Albert Kern was Gottfried F.Kern's brother. Gottfried was my great-great grandfather. Perhaps this will help you with a further search.
