(Wilton) Partially paralyzed for the last eight years and unable to work because of his infirmity and old age, Frederick Techau, an aged farmer residing three miles southeast of Wilton committed suicide yesterday. Tying a rope to a rafter in an out building, he stood on a box and swing off into eternity. The suicide is supposed to have taken place at about 10 o'clock in the morning, as when the body was found by the suicide's aged wife at 11 o'clock, the corpse was still warm. Techau was 79 years of age. He had not made any remarks about taking his life and no other reason cane be assigned for the act than that he had become pessimistic and melancholy owing to his affliction with paralysis. Coroner King has been notified and an inquest was held. Dr. Leigh of Wilton, who was called, stated that Techau had hanged himself between 9 and 10 o'clock Wednesday morning.
